The archive clip you see here is part of a longer travelogue which explores the East and West Sussex countryside, following the path of the River Rother, visiting Brighton, Bodiam, Etchingham, Rye and Goodwood Racecourse.
This clip shows Brighton on a summer's day, the beach heaves with sunbathers, swimmers and boats. Families find entertainment at the Lido, and on The Palace Pier where the amusements, deckchairs and a Punch and Judy show find favour.
These archive clips are taken from the film 'A Sussex Symphony' ID No. 3740. For more information please contact Screen Archive South East or visit their website.
